British Union of Fascists

The British Union of Fascists (BUF) was a political organization in the 1930s in the UK, inspired by Italian dictator Mussolini’s fascism. Founded by Oswald Mosley, it promoted nationalist, anti-communist, and authoritarian ideas, advocating for strong leadership and limiting individual liberties. The BUF aimed to unite Britain’s industrial and working classes under a disciplined, militaristic regime. Due to their extremist views and anti-Semitic rhetoric, they faced widespread opposition and decline during World War II, when their activities were banned. The BUF remains a historical example of how fascist ideologies attempted to gain influence in Britain during that era.
