British Light Cavalry

British Light Cavalry was a type of mobile, fast-moving soldiers in the British Army, primarily used during the 18th and 19th centuries. Their role was to scout ahead, gather intelligence, perform quick attacks, and pursue retreating enemies. Unlike heavy cavalry, which fought in close combat, light cavalry emphasized speed and agility, often operating in loose formations. They were equipped with lighter armor and weapons, such as sabers and carbines, enabling rapid movement across battlefields. Their flexibility made them valuable for reconnaissance, communication, and disrupting enemy operations during wars like the Napoleonic Wars and other 19th-century conflicts.
