British Indian Education
British Indian education refers to the system established during British rule in India (1858–1947), modeled on the British educational framework. It emphasized formal schooling, the English language, and Western curricula, aiming to create a class of educated Indians who could assist in administration. This system introduced standardized exams, professional training, and Western sciences, but also often prioritized colonial priorities over indigenous knowledge. Post-independence, India retained many elements of this system, blending it with traditional educational practices to develop its modern education structure.
