British currency

British currency primarily consists of pounds (£), divided into 100 pence (p). Banknotes are issued in various denominations, such as £5, £10, £20, and £50, while coins include 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1, and £2. The pound is the official currency of the UK, including England, Scotland, and Wales. Prices are often shown with the pound symbol (£) followed by the amount, and smaller amounts are expressed in pence.
