British Chess Federation

The British Chess Federation (BCF) was the national governing body for chess in the United Kingdom, responsible for promoting, developing, and regulating the game across England. It organized competitions, set standards, and represented UK interests internationally. The BCF also supported clubs and players, worked to improve the game's infrastructure, and helped maintain a high standard of play. In 2009, it merged with the English Chess Federation to form the English Chess Federation (ECF), which now serves as the main organization overseeing chess in England.
