Brightness perception
Brightness perception refers to how our eyes and brain interpret the intensity of light in our surroundings. It is influenced not only by the actual amount of light hitting our eyes but also by the context and surrounding visual cues. For example, a gray object may appear brighter against a dark background and dimmer against a light one. Our brain constantly adjusts our perception of brightness to interpret the environment accurately, making it a complex process shaped by physical light, contrast, and individual differences in vision.
