Briefs and amicus curiae
Briefs are written documents submitted to a court by parties involved in a case, outlining their arguments, legal reasons, and evidence to support their position. An amicus curiae, or "friend of the court," is a person or organization that isn’t a party to the case but offers additional information, expertise, or perspectives to help the court make a well-informed decision. They typically submit their own briefs to influence the outcome by highlighting broader implications or legal principles involved.
