
Brian Acton
Brian Acton is an American computer programmer and entrepreneur, best known as the co-founder of WhatsApp, a widely used messaging app. He started his career at Yahoo, where he worked for over a decade. In 2009, he launched WhatsApp with Jan Koum, focusing on simplicity and privacy in messaging. Facebook acquired WhatsApp in 2014 for approximately $19 billion, one of the largest tech acquisitions ever. Acton later left Facebook in 2017, becoming an advocate for privacy and open-source technology. He also co-founded the Signal Foundation, which supports the development of the privacy-focused messaging app Signal.
