Brentano
Brentano was a 19th-century philosopher and psychologist who emphasized the importance of studying human experience from a first-person perspective. He believed that consciousness is always directed toward something—an idea, a sensation, or an emotion—which he called "intentionality." His work shifted focus from abstract reasoning to understanding how we perceive and experience the world directly through our own mental acts. Brentano's ideas influenced many fields, including philosophy, psychology, and cognitive science, by highlighting the active role of the mind in shaping our perception of reality.
