BRD4

BRD4 (Bromodomain-containing protein 4) is a protein that helps regulate gene expression by reading specific chemical markers (acetyl groups) on DNA-associated proteins called histones. It acts as an interpreter, guiding the machinery that turns genes on or off. BRD4 plays a vital role in cell growth and inflammation. Because of its influence on gene activity, it has become a target for drugs aiming to treat certain cancers and other diseases by modifying how genes are expressed in cells.
