Brazilian wandering spider
The Brazilian wandering spider, also known as Phoneutria, is a highly venomous spider native to South America. Known for its large size and aggressive behavior, it does not spin webs but actively hunts prey on the ground. Its venom contains neurotoxins that can cause severe pain, paralysis, and, in rare cases, serious health complications in humans. Despite its reputation, bites are rare and typically occur if the spider is provoked. The spider's presence highlights the importance of caution in tropical regions, but fatalities are very uncommon due to medical advances and antivenom availability.
