Brazilian Pepper

Brazilian Pepper, also known as Schinus terebinthifolia, is a fast-growing, woody shrub or small tree native to South America. It has bright green, aromatic leaves and clusters of small, red berries that resemble peppercorns. Originally introduced as an ornamental plant, it has become invasive in parts of Florida and other regions, outcompeting native species and disrupting ecosystems. It thrives in a variety of soils and conditions, often forming dense thickets. While it is sometimes used in traditional medicine and as a decorative plant, its invasive nature makes it important to manage and control its spread where it is non-native.
