Brayton (George Brayton)
George Brayton was an engineer who designed an early type of internal combustion engine called the Brayton engine in the late 19th century. It used a continuous flow of air and fuel to produce power, functioning similarly to modern gas turbines. His design allowed for smoother, more efficient operation compared to previous engines, paving the way for advancements in power generation and aviation. Although not used widely at the time, Brayton’s innovations helped influence the development of turbine engines used in jet engines today.
