
Braxton Bragg
Braxton Bragg was a Confederate general during the American Civil War, known for his strategic skills but also for controversial leadership and disputes with other officers. He was born in 1817 and served in the U.S. Army before joining the Confederacy. Bragg commanded Confederate forces in notable battles such as Chickamauga and participated in the Battle of Chattanooga. His leadership style often led to tensions and disagreements within his army, which affected his reputation. Despite mixed views on his effectiveness, he played a significant role in the Civil War's Western Theater. He died in 1876.
