Brasilia
Brasília is the capital city of Brazil, specifically planned and built in the late 1950s to serve as the country's political and administrative center. Located inland, it was designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer and urban planner Lúcio Costa, featuring modernist architecture and organized urban layouts. The city’s unique design emphasizes open spaces, distinctive modern architecture, and strategic placement to promote national unity. Brasília replaced Rio de Janeiro as the capital to encourage development inland and to symbolize Brazil’s progress. It is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its innovative architecture and city planning.
