BP (blood pressure)

Blood pressure (BP) measures the force of blood pushing against the walls of your arteries as your heart pumps. It is expressed with two numbers: systolic pressure (top number), which indicates the pressure when the heart contracts, and diastolic pressure (bottom number), which reflects the pressure when the heart is at rest between beats. Normal BP helps ensure that organs and tissues receive enough oxygen and nutrients. High BP (hypertension) can strain arteries and increase the risk of heart disease, while low BP (hypotension) may cause dizziness or fainting. Regular monitoring helps maintain healthy levels.
