Bows and arrows

A bow and arrow is a simple weapon used to shoot projectiles called arrows. The bow consists of a flexible curved piece of material, such as wood or fiberglass, with a string connecting its ends. When you pull the string back, you store potential energy in the bow. Releasing the string propels the arrow forward with kinetic energy. Arrows are typically straight, pointed shafts, often with fletching (feathers) to stabilize their flight. Bows and arrows have been used historically for hunting and warfare, and today they are also popular in sport and recreation.
