Bowline knot

The bowline knot is a reliable, easy-to-tie knot that creates a fixed loop at the end of a rope. It's often used in sailing, rescue, and outdoor activities because it holds well under load but can be easily untied when needed. To tie it, make a small loop (the "rabbit hole") in the rope, pass the end (the "rabbit") up through the loop, around the standing part of the rope, and back down through the loop. This forms a secure, adjustable loop that won't slip under tension but can be untied effortlessly.
