Bounty (mutiny)

A bounty mutiny occurs when crew members of a ship, motivated by disagreements over rewards or conditions, seize control from their captain or officers. This often involves the sailors forcibly overthrowing leadership, typically after a voyage or mission, to achieve their personal goals, such as claiming promised payments or better treatment. The most famous example is the 1789 mutiny on the HMS Bounty, where sailors, dissatisfied with their captain's decisions, mutinied and set him and some crew ashore. Such mutinies reflect conflicts over authority, fairness, and resources aboard ships during long voyages.
