"Bounty Man"

A "Bounty Man" is a person who seeks out and captures or kills individuals who have a monetary reward or "bounty" on their head. Historically, bounty hunters operated independently or as part of law enforcement to track down criminals or fugitive suspects. They are motivated by the promise of payment and often use specialized skills in tracking or combat. While common in the Old West, bounty hunting still exists today in some forms, such as private individuals or agencies working under legal frameworks to locate and apprehend wanted persons.
