Boumediene (Houari Boumédiene)

Houari Boumédiène was an Algerian military officer and politician who served as the country's second president from 1965 until his death in 1978. He played a key role in leading Algeria to independence from France in 1962 and then governed through a centralized, state-led approach focused on industrialization and Arab-African solidarity.
