BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer)
Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) is a project delivery model where a private company is hired to design, build, and operate a facility—such as a highway, power plant, or hospital—for a specific period. During this time, the company manages the operations and often earns revenue from the facility’s use. Once the agreed period ends, ownership and control of the facility are transferred back to the government or original owner. This approach allows the public sector to benefit from private investment and expertise without upfront costs, while the private company recoups its investment through operational revenues before transferring ownership.
