Boston Harbor Project

The Boston Harbor Project was a large environmental effort started in the 1980s to clean up Boston Harbor, which had become heavily polluted from industrial and human waste. The goal was to restore water quality, improve fish and wildlife habitats, and promote safe recreational activities. The project included modernizing sewage treatment systems, reducing pollution entering the harbor, and restoring natural areas. Over time, these efforts significantly improved water clarity and cleanliness, transforming the harbor into a healthier, more vibrant environment for residents and marine life alike.
