Bosnia (Bosnian War)

The Bosnian War (1992–1995) was a conflict following the breakup of Yugoslavia, primarily involving Bosnia's ethnic groups—Bosniaks, Croats, and Serbs. Tensions over national identity and territory led to violent clashes, including ethnic cleansing and war crimes. Bosniaks and Croats sought independence, while Serbs aimed to create a Serbian-controlled state. International intervention, including the Dayton Agreement, eventually ended the fighting. The war resulted in significant destruction, loss of life, and deep ethnic divisions, highlighting the challenges of post-conflict reconciliation and peacebuilding in a multi-ethnic society.
