Bosnia and Herzegovina War
The Bosnia and Herzegovina War (1992–1995) was a conflict following the breakup of Yugoslavia, mainly involving ethnic groups: Bosniaks, Croats, and Serbs. Tensions over territory and national identity led to violent clashes, including ethnic cleansing and genocide, particularly against Bosniak civilians. International efforts aimed to stop the violence, culminating in the Dayton Agreement of 1995, which established a complex political structure to maintain peace. The war resulted in significant human suffering, loss of life, and lasting ethnic divisions, highlighting the destructive impact of ethnic nationalism and unresolved political grievances.
