Bortezomib

Bortezomib is a medication used primarily to treat certain blood cancers, such as multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma. It works by blocking a protein called the proteasome, which helps cancer cells grow and survive. By inhibiting this protein, bortezomib causes cancer cells to break down and die more easily. This targeted approach helps to control disease progression and improve symptoms. While effective, it can also affect normal cells, leading to side effects, so it is usually administered under close medical supervision.
