Borreliosis

Borreliosis, commonly known as Lyme disease, is an infection caused by bacteria called Borrelia, transmitted through the bite of infected ticks. Symptoms often include fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans. If not treated promptly with antibiotics, it can spread and cause more severe issues such as joint pain, neurological problems, or heart complications. Early diagnosis and treatment are important for a full recovery. Prevention involves avoiding tick habitats, using protective clothing, and checking for ticks after outdoor activities.
