Boron fixation
Boron fixation refers to the process by which plants take up boron from the soil and incorporate it into their tissues. Boron is a vital micronutrient that supports cell wall strength, membrane function, and reproductive development. When soil boron levels are adequate, plants readily absorb it through their roots, and it becomes fixed or integrated within their tissues, ensuring proper growth. Excess boron, however, can be toxic. Therefore, maintaining the right balance is essential for healthy plant development and effective boron fixation.
