Bornean rainforest

The Bornean rainforest, located on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia, is one of the world's oldest and most diverse tropical forests. It covers around 140,000 square kilometers and is home to an incredible variety of plants, animals, and insects, many of which are unique to the region. The rainforest plays a crucial role in regulating the Earth's climate, producing oxygen, and supporting local communities. However, it faces threats from deforestation, mainly due to logging, agriculture, and palm oil plantations, which endanger its rich biodiversity and ecological health.
