Borexino
Borexino is a highly sensitive scientific detector located underground in Italy, designed to study tiny particles called neutrinos that come from the sun. It consists of a large tank filled with ultra-pure liquid scintillator, which emits light when neutrinos interact with it. This setup allows scientists to observe and analyze solar neutrinos in real-time, helping to understand the processes powering the sun and neutrino properties. Being deep underground reduces interference from other radiation, making Borexino one of the most precise instruments for studying these elusive particles.
