Borders and Boundaries

Borders are official lines established by governments to define where one country ends and another begins, often marked on maps and borders. Boundaries, more generally, can refer to any dividing lines that distinguish one area from another, including social, cultural, or geographic distinctions within a region. While borders are legal and political boundaries between nations, boundaries may also exist within countries, such as state or district lines. Both serve to organize space, regulate movement, and clarify ownership or jurisdiction, playing a crucial role in identity, governance, and resource management.
