The Border Security Force (BSF) is India’s primary agency responsible for safeguarding its land borders against intrusion, smuggling, and illegal activities. Established in 1965, it operates along India’s borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh, ensuring territorial integrity and security. The BSF conducts patrols, surveillance, and anti-infiltration operations, and also assists in maintaining peace and order during emergencies. It is a paramilitary force under the Ministry of Home Affairs, composed of personnel trained in border management, counter-terrorism, and border terrain navigation, playing a crucial role in protecting India's sovereignty.
