Boonwurrung

Boonwurrung is an Indigenous Australian language spoken by the Boonwurrung people, part of the Kulin nation in southeastern Australia, particularly around what is now Melbourne. It is a traditional language used for storytelling, ceremonies, and daily communication. Like many Indigenous languages, it holds cultural significance and offers insight into the community’s connection to land and history. Efforts are underway to revive and teach Boonwurrung, recognizing its importance to cultural identity and heritage preservation.
