Bone Scintigraphy

Bone scintigraphy, also known as a bone scan, is a diagnostic imaging test that helps detect abnormalities in bones. A small amount of radioactive material, called a tracer, is injected into the bloodstream. This tracer travels through the body and collects in areas where bones are damaged, inflamed, or growing abnormally. A special camera then captures images of these areas, highlighting spots that may indicate conditions like infections, fractures, tumors, or arthritis. The procedure is safe, non-invasive, and provides valuable information about bone health and function.
