Body Dysmorphic Disorders
Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) is a mental health condition where a person becomes preoccupied with perceived flaws or defects in their appearance that are often not noticeable to others. This intense focus can lead to significant distress and impact daily life, as individuals may go to great lengths to hide or fix these perceived imperfections. People with BDD may frequently compare themselves to others, seek reassurance about their looks, or undergo unnecessary cosmetic procedures. Treatment often includes therapy and, in some cases, medication to help manage the symptoms and improve self-esteem.
