Bodhi Dharma

Bodhi Dharma, also known as Chán or Zen Buddhism’s founder, was an Indian monk who traveled to China around the 5th or 6th century to spread Buddhist teachings centered on meditation and direct insight. He emphasized the importance of personal experience and mind-to-mind transmission of enlightenment, rather than reliance on scriptures alone. Bodhi Dharma is often depicted as a revered, austere figure embodying deep meditation and spiritual discipline. His teachings laid the groundwork for Zen Buddhism, encouraging practitioners to find awakening through meditation practice and direct realization of their true nature.
