Bode's Law

Bode's Law is an empirical rule proposed in the 18th century that suggests a pattern in the distances of planets from the Sun. It posits that each planet's orbit is roughly 1.4 times farther from the Sun than the previous one, starting with Mercury. Although not exact, this simple formula correctly predicted the existence of the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter and offered a rough idea of planetary spacing. Bode's Law isn't a proven physical law but an observed pattern that has helped scientists understand the arrangement of our solar system.
