Bob Johnson

Bob Johnson is a notable figure in American business and entrepreneurship, best known as the founder of BET (Black Entertainment Television), which was the first cable network dedicated to African American culture and entertainment. Launched in 1980, BET became a significant platform for showcasing Black talent and perspectives. Johnson transformed it into a major media company, and in 1991, he made history by becoming the first African American billionaire when he sold BET to Viacom.
