Blue Book (Continental Army regulations)
The Blue Book, officially known as the "Regulations for the Order and Discipline of the Troops of the United States," was the Continental Army’s manual published in 1779. It provided soldiers and officers with guidelines on discipline, drill, tactics, and organization, helping standardize military procedures during the American Revolution. The Blue Book aimed to create an efficient, coordinated fighting force by establishing consistent expectations for conduct and training across the army. It served as a foundational military manual for early U.S. armed forces and influenced later military training and regulations.
