Blood type determination
Blood type determination identifies specific markers on red blood cells called antigens, mainly A, B, and Rh (positive or negative). A blood test examines a sample to see how the blood reacts with different antibodies that bind to these antigens. If the blood reacts with anti-A antibodies, it has A antigens; if it reacts with anti-B, it has B antigens; and the Rh test shows if the Rh factor is present. This helps determine your blood type, which is important for safe blood transfusions, organ transplants, and medical procedures, ensuring compatibility and preventing adverse reactions.
