Blood Clotting Factors

Blood clotting factors are proteins in your blood that help stop bleeding when you're injured. When you get a cut, these factors work together in a series of steps to form a clot, which is a solid mass that seals the wound. This process, called coagulation, is essential for healing and preventing excessive blood loss. There are several clotting factors, each identified by a Roman numeral (e.g., Factor I, Factor II). If any factor is missing or dysfunctional due to genetic conditions or diseases, it can lead to bleeding disorders, making it harder for the body to control bleeding.
