Blizzard

A blizzard is a severe snowstorm characterized by strong winds, low temperatures, and reduced visibility due to blowing snow. For a storm to be classified as a blizzard, specific criteria must be met, including sustained winds of at least 35 miles per hour, heavy snowfall, and visibility of less than a quarter-mile for at least three hours. Blizzards can create hazardous travel conditions, cause power outages, and potentially lead to dangerous situations due to extreme cold. They often occur in winter when cold air masses collide with moisture-laden air, resulting in heavy snowfall and strong winds.
