Blitzing defense

Blitzing in football is a defensive strategy where additional defenders—beyond the usual front line—rush towards the quarterback to pressure or sack him quickly. Instead of just defending against the pass or run, blitzing aims to disrupt the offense’s timing and decision-making by increasing the pressure early in the play. While it can lead to more sacks or turnovers, it also leaves fewer defenders to cover receivers or stop runs, so it's a calculated risk used to create a quick defensive dominant moment.
