Blinded study

A blinded study is a type of research where the participants, and sometimes the researchers, do not know which treatment or intervention the participants are receiving. This approach helps prevent bias—meaning the researchers’ or participants’ expectations don’t influence the results. For example, in a single-blind study, only the participants are unaware; in a double-blind study, neither participants nor researchers know. This method ensures that the outcomes are more reliable and objectively measured, providing a clearer picture of whether the treatment itself is effective.
