Blessed William Joseph Chaminade
Blessed William Joseph Chaminade (1761–1850) was a French priest and founder of the Marianists, a religious community dedicated to Mary and serving in education and pastoral work. Facing anti-Catholic persecution after the French Revolution, he promoted faith renewal through teaching, missions, and nurturing Christian community life. His work emphasized a gentle approach to evangelization and unity among Catholics. Recognized for his holiness and contributions to Catholic education and the laity's role in faith, he was beatified in 2000, inspiring many to deepen their spiritual lives and commitment to service within the Church.
