Blepharospasm

Blepharospasm is an involuntary, sustained or intermittent tightening of the eyelid muscles, causing the eyelids to close or twitch uncontrollably. This condition can vary from mild eyelid twitching to complete eyelid closure, leading to difficulties in seeing or performing daily activities. It is often considered a neurological disorder involving abnormal nerve signals that trigger muscle contractions. While the exact cause isn't always clear, factors like stress, eye irritation, or neurological conditions can contribute. Treatment options include medications, Botox injections, or, in some cases, surgery to help control symptoms.
