blepharoptosis
Blepharoptosis, commonly called ptosis, is a condition where the upper eyelid droops downward, partially or completely covering the eye’s pupil. This can occur due to weakening or malfunction of the muscles that lift the eyelid, nerve issues, or damage to the eyelid's supporting structures. It may be present from birth or develop later in life. Ptosis can affect vision if the eyelid blocks the line of sight, and might also cause the eye to appear smaller or tired. Treatment often involves surgical correction to lift the eyelid and improve vision and appearance.
