Blastosyst
A blastocyst is an early-stage embryo that forms about five to six days after fertilization. It is characterized by a fluid-filled cavity and specialized groups of cells that will develop into different parts of the body, such as the placenta and the embryo itself. The blastocyst stage is crucial for implantation into the uterine wall, which allows pregnancy to progress. This stage is often used in fertility treatments like in vitro fertilization (IVF) because it provides a good indicator of embryo viability and potential for successful development.
