Blast waves
A blast wave is a powerful, rapidly expanding shock wave caused by an explosion, such as a bomb or a large detonation. It moves through the air at high speed, creating a sudden increase in pressure and temperature that can cause damage to structures and injury to living beings. The blast wave travels outward from the explosion’s center, compressing everything in its path, and then quickly dissipates as energy disperses. Its destructive power depends on the energy released and the distance from the explosion.
