Bladder Pain Syndrome/Interstitial Cystitis

Bladder Pain Syndrome, also known as Interstitial Cystitis (IC), is a chronic condition that causes bladder pressure, discomfort, and pain in the pelvic region. It often leads to frequent and urgent urination, sometimes with little warning. The exact cause is unclear, but it may involve dysfunction of the bladder's lining or inflammation. Women are more commonly affected, and symptoms can significantly impact daily life. Treatment options include dietary changes, physical therapy, medications, and, in some cases, bladder instillation therapies or surgery, aimed at alleviating symptoms and improving quality of life.
